Before the war Lurate Caccivio and formed two distinct and geographically separated. Today the two countries form a single agglomeration that has no solutions of continuity, a single large village. At the foot of the hill overlooking the Lura that, out of the narrow and rutted intra hills, flowing freely in the territory, declining gently opens similar closed shell on the sides by fields and wooded hills that lead east in Villa Guardia and west in Olgiate, Oltrona and while it remains open to the south where the principia great plain of the Po plain territory as already mentioned, lies at the foot of rolling hills (of Castello of Monte Rotondo and Barozzo) - offshoots of the morainic amphitheater of Lake Como from the glacial period - that come together in the wide range of hills to the north which is the buttress to the Prealpi Como. The station is installed in an urban area (green); the sensors are mounted on a pole between 3 and 6 feet above the ground (328 m above sea level) .
